The Food & Agriculture program focuses on three programmatic goals — reforming animal agriculture, building regional food systems and long-term┬ámovement building. Our work is guided by the belief that the complex problems facing our food system today require a systems approach to solve them: moving from confined and consolidated animal production to diversified and family owned farms and ranches requires a robust regional food system; and transformation of this magnitude requires long term movement building to build public support for policy change at the local, state, and national level.
